A DAY OF COMMEMORATION OF THE INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR THE PRESERVATION OF THE OZONE LAYER

On account of International day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer, Eco club organised a PPT presentation on September 24,2022 under the guidance of Mrs.Anuradha, Dean of Students and Mrs.Kalpana, Coordinator of Eco Club at the conference hall from 12 to 1pm. The invitation was sent to the members of the Eco club in prior and everyone assembled in the spot at the appropriate time.

Initially, the program began with the welcome address given by Deepika.P, Eco club coordinator of II BBA. Before the start of all the presentations, the audience were asked to give their full attention since we had a quiz session at the end.

The following students of II year are the Eco club coordinators of various departments who presented PPT on different sub topics of the main concept.

As informed earlier, the quiz session happened and it was conducted by Rithika, Eco Club member of II B.Sc.Chemistry. Participants took notes, listened carefully during the presentation and actively participated in the quiz. Two rounds were conducted. Durga and Kalpana from I B.Sc.Mathematics and Durga Devi from II B.Sc.Computer Science were promoted to the 2nd round and finally Durga Devi secured the first position. Mrs.Anuradha, Dean of Students gave the winner a sapling as a token of appreciation. The program was concluded by a vote of thanks given by Jeevitha.E and the whole program was hosted by V. Karunya Nivetha, Council Member of III B.Sc.Mathematics.

On the occasion of International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer, Eco club organises a PPT presentation on 24.9.2022 from 12 to 1 p.m. at the conference hall. 

This is to encourage everyone to do their part in preserving the Ozone Layer.

PLEDGE TAKEN ON INTERNATIONAL DAY FOR THE PRESERVATION OF THE OZONE LAYER

Preserving mother nature is every person's duty and responsibility. Today, as our natural resources are depleting each passing day, drastic measures need to be taken by each one of us. A contribution both great and small will drive us towards a better future with a better environment. On account of International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer, V.Karunya Nivetha, Council member of III B.Sc.Mathematics rendered a speech on the same on September 16,2022 while the charts were displayed by the Eco Club coordinators in the lawn from 2 to 2:30p.m. At the end, all the students were asked to stretch their right hand in order to take pledge regarding the efforts to be taken in the preservation of the Ozone Layer.

ECO CLUB CELEBRATES 75TH INDEPENDENCE DAY

Independence Day marks the end of British rule in 1947 and the establishment of a free and independent Indian nation. It also marks the anniversary of the partition of the subcontinent into two countries, India and Pakistan. The theme for 75th independence day is " Nation First Always first". Students from CTTE College celebrated independence day with great pomp. Eco club members also showed their love and patriotism toward the country by giving a dance performance

As a part of independence day celebration Eco club members contributed plant saplings for college in order promote greenery environment around us. Plant sapling was planted in college campus in the presence of principal Dr. S. Sridevi, vice principal Dr. R. Menakshi and Mrs. N . Anuradha Head department of chemistry, Dean of students, Eco club coordinator.

AN INITIATIVE TO RECYCLE AND PROTECT ENVIRONMENT

To promote swatch and green environment our college has taken an initiative  and contributed 2401 kgs of dry recycled waste to ITC. ITC's Well-being Out of Waste (WOW) initiative promotes awareness about the importance of source segregation and recycling and establishes systems to ensure effective practice.

CAUSES OF CLIMATE CHANGE

Polar ice caps are melting as global warming causes climate change. We lose Arctic sea ice at a rate of almost 13% per decade, and over the past 30 years, the oldest and thickest ice in the Arctic has declined by a stunning 95%.Human activities are at the root of this phenomenon. Specifically, since the industrial revolution, carbon dioxide and other greenhouse gas emissions have raised temperatures, even higher in the poles, and as a result, glaciers are rapidly melting, calving off into the sea and retreating on land. These causes threats to animals living in that region.

WORLD EARTH DAY CELEBRATION

World earth day is celebrated on 22 April each year in our college  to spread awareness about conserving earth. 

The programme started  with prayer song at 9.00 am and   the session carried out with a welcome address followed by guest introduction  given by Eco club teacher coordinator Mrs. N. Anuradha, head department of chemistry. Following this guest lecture started on the topic Climate change: Mitigation for strategies.

Mr. D. Suresh explained how to conserve energy in home and use eco friendly gadgets to save energy.

After his lecture, students were given time to interact with him. Students felt that the session was more informative and interactive.  

After his lecture prize distribution took place , students from various departments got their winning certification and prizes from the cheif guest.

Atlast the session ended with a vote of thanks given by Eco club assistant secretary F.Ayisha Farzana from IInd year B.com (A&F).

As Eco club aims to celebrate environment-friendly development to save the environment for a better future in our country. Hence this lecture created awareness among students about climate change and it's causes
